WS 92pts Michel Gros Vosne-Romanee 2015 at Special Offer of HK$650/Bt Only!
he Gros family has been making excellent wine in Burgundy since the early 1800s when Alphonse Gros married Madame Latour and acquired their first parcels of vines in Vosne-Romanee. The Domaine was divided as it was passed down from generation to generation thus making the Domaine names as complicated as it gets for a family with such a long history in the region. To make it simple, there are essentially four separate Gros Domaines, all related to each other: Gros Frère et Sœur, Anne Gros, Anne-Francoise Gros (aka A.F. Gros) and Michel Gros. While they come from the same family,...
A Mysterious Plot Surrounded by Romanee-St-Vivant: La Croix Rameau 1er Cru by Francois Lamarche
Today we would like to introduce you to a very interesting and mysterious 1er Cru plot located in the northeast corner of Romanee-St-Vivant called "La Croix Rameau". La Croix Rameau is a very small (only 0.6ha) and relatively unknown Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru and its history is vague but a lot of historical information ties the plot to Romanee-St-Vivant, speculating that it was once part of this world famous appellation. There are three owners of La Croix Rameau - the largest owner is Domaine Lamarche with 0.21 ha, the second largest is Coudray Bizot with 0.20 ha and lastly we have Cacheaux...
Check Out This New Arrival: AM "Outstanding" Claude Dugat Gevrey-Chambertin 2002
Established in 1955 by Claude and Marie-Thérèse, Domaine Claude Dugat is a small family-run domaine and is widely considered one of the top producers in Gevrey-Chambertin. The domaine practises sustainable viticulture so they never use fertilisers or herbicides. They harvest grapes when they are just ripe, which is determined solely by taste instead of lab analysis, and thus creating wines that are fresh but also concentrated and intense thanks to the old-age vines. Upon harvesting, the grapes are 100% destemmed and fermented in concrete tanks with gentle punch downs for extraction. The wine is racked into a barrel and is aged in oak for...
Meursault Selections 2005-2018: Arnaud Ente, Comtes Lafon, Henri Germain, Lucien Le Moine...
Meursault produces some of the finest white wines in Burgundy, with nearly 400ha of wine producing area with 97% being used for white wines and the rest for reds. The wines of Meursault glorify the art of Chardonnay and nowhere in the Cote de Beaune does the Chardonnay grape do better than it does in Meursault. Whilst there are no Grand Crus in Meursault, there are 19 Premier Crus in which many are world-renowned climats such as Charmes, Goutte d'Or, and Perrieres. The style of white Meursault typically has a clear oak influence, and the wines are often described to be "buttery"...
