We would like to introduce a world-famous white which you shouldn’t miss (and almost impossible to buy nowadays). Back in the 1930s, the celebrated French writer and gastronome Curnonsky identified five white wines as the finest in the world: (1) Le Montrachet in Burgundy; (2) Château d’Yquem in Bordeaux; (3) Château Chalon in Jura; (4) Clos de la Coulée de Serrant in Loire; last but not the least, (5) Chateau Grillet which was included in an individual appellation, a monopole and a single variety – Viognier.
