Domaine Michel Caillot was established in the 1960s by Roger Caillot, Michel’s father. Michel, the nephew of Pierre Morey (the ex-winemaker at Domaine Leflaive), started working in the family Domaine in the 1980s and then took full charge from 1995. The domaine owns 14ha of vineyards in which most of their whites are located in Meursault with some others in Puligny-Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet, and Santenay; while their reds are located in Pommard, Volnay, Beaune and Monthelie. Michel applies an organic approach in the vineyards and does not use any synthetic pesticides or fertilizers and is committed to the principles of non-interventionist winemaking.
