We have been a long-time follower of Stella di Campalto's wines as they offer lots of similarities with Burgundy Pinot's and they are amongst the most elegant Brunello di Montalcino in our minds. Stella di Campalto's winery, Podere San Giuseppe, has a history dating back to 1910. It fell into abadonment during WWII and her family purchased the estate in 1992 and resuscitated the property, and since then, Stella di Campalto has been overseeing the viticulture and winemaking there.
