One of the six Grand Cru sites in Vosne-Romanee, Richebourg is situated in the northermost part of the Vosne-Romanee, and adjacent to the La Romanee and Romanee-Conti sites with Romanee-St-Vivant on the slopes below and the famous Cros Parantoux Premier Cru vineyard is above. It is the second-largest Grand Cru in Vosne-Romanee after Romanee-St-Vivant. Historically the Gros family has magical holdings in Vosne-Romanee and Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur has improved progressively since Bernard Gros took over the management in 1984. Nowadays it is one of the most beautiful domaines in Vosne-Romanee situated near Richebourg, with Domaine Jean Grivot, Domaine Meo Camuzet and Michel Gros being very close neighbors. Wines from Gros Frere et Soeur are usually full-bodied and have significant layers of oak influence. The Grand Crus are aged in 100% new oak which are usually powerful and impart aromatic, concentrated and dense fruit elements.
