Deutz is a Champagne house with German origins, founded in 1838 by two Prussian immigrants, William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann. It was acquired by Louis Roederer in 1993 and now owns 42 hectares of vineyard and has an extensive sourcing network for grapes. Domaine Michel Caillot was established in the 1960s by Roger Caillot, Michel’s father. Michel, the nephew of Pierre Morey (the ex-winemaker at Domaine Leflaive), started working in the family Domaine in the 1980s and then took full charge from 1995.
