Domaine Mongeard-Mugneret has a history dating back to 1620 but was only named "Mongeard-Mugneret" in 1945 after Eugene Mongeard and Edmee Mugneret married, and is currently managed by the 9th generation Vincent and Anne. They have vineyards of approximately 30 hectares in total, spread across 35 different appellations in which many are located in Vosne-Romanee including top terroirs Richebourg, Grands Echezeaux and Echezeaux Grand Crus. Domaine Hubert Lignier has a history dating back to the 1880s when it was set up, but its wine journey all truly began when Henri Lignier started to plant the parcels in 1955 that remain their core holdings till this day. The Domaine is located in Morey St Denis and is a traditional family estate which is passed from one generation to another. Hubert Lignier himself managed the domaine for several decades and drove the domaine to its success. Joseph Roty has been making wines since 1710 and the production has remained minuscule for over 300 years. After Joseph’s death in 2008, his son Phillippe took over the family business, at the same time set up an additional domaine under his own label, producing a small number of Marsannay wines. Even though Philippe, unfortunately, passed away in 2015, their combined operation continues to run by Philippe’s mother and brother Pierre-Jean, consistently producing high-quality wines.
