The Noellat family has a very long history in Vosne-Romanee in which the two brothers, Charles and Ernest, were the main players in the family in the early twentieth century. Charles Noellat’s daughter Odile Noellat married Alain Hudelot later to form Hudelot-Noellat. Charles Noellat died in 1930s and because the domaine owns a few beautiful vineyards such as Richebourg and Romanee-St-Vivant, it attracted Madame Lalou Bize-Leroy to sell one-third of interest of Domaine Leroy to Japan's Takashimaya in order to secure funds to purchase Domaine Charles Noellat in 1988 - a move that has led to the global success of...
