Special Offers on Domaine Leflaive Bievenues-Batard-Montrachet & Batard-Montrachet 2007, 2010 & 2013

One of our constant favourites of Chardonnay producers from Burgundy and for many others around the world too, Domaine Leflaive has been an eminent winemaker in the world of wines which has been continuously producing astounding Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet for many decades. Madame Anne-Claude Leflaive built a strong reputation for the label under her careful and special attention in the vineyard, making some of the most fruit-forward and terroir-expressive wines that are worthy to be added to every wine collector's cellar since taking over from her father in 1994. Sadly Anne-Claude passed away in 2015 and Brice de La Morandiere's, Anne-Claude's nephew and great grandson of Joseph Leflaive the founder, has taken over carrying on with the same family philosophy of respect for the great ''terroirs'', humility towards the forces of nature and rigorous in it's relentless pursuit of excellence in wine making.
Today we have a proud selection of Leflaive Grand Cru selections including Bienvenues-Batard-Montrachet 2013, Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2010 and Leflaive Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2007 at special prices today in loose bottles and with additional discounts if purchased by the case until the end of next Friday, 5th November 2021. These all scored high with wine critics and are undoubtedly worthy bottles to add to your Burgundy collection -

Here the nose is actually quite similar to that of the Pucelles save for being ever-so-slightly riper and displaying more overt peach influence. There is the same exquisite purity to the strikingly intense and beautifully well-detailed flavors that ooze both a fine minerality and plenty of dry extract that imparts a wonderfully seductive texture to the explosive yet refined finish. Like the Pucelles, this is a combination of focused power and finesse.

This notches up the ripeness just a touch more yet there are only the barest hints of exoticism to the peach, apricot, pear and acacia blossom aromas that display a top note of citrus zest. This is a classic Bâtard in the sense of being big, bold and powerful with imposingly-scaled flavors that coat the palate with dry extract before terminating in a massively long and borderline painfully intense finish. To be sure, this is a big wine yet it remains light on its feet with no undue sense of being top heavy. Indeed the balance is perfect though note that patience will be required. Marvelous.

This is also on the ripe side for a 2007 with an ultra elegant nose that is pure, airy and cool, indeed this is unusually elegant for the appellation with its white flower, citrus, pear, menthol, white pepper and light spice hints that are in perfect keeping with the rich, full and broad-shouldered flavors that possess the usual volume and power of a classic Bâtard but do not lose any of the precision or detail on the expansive, mouth coating and hugely long and very dry finish. Like a number of examples in 2007, this is an elegant yet forceful Bâtard.
Subject to final confirmation. Special offer prices are valid until 5th November 2021 only.
