Rare! Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru 1996 from Remoissenet

Rare! Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand Cru 1996 from Remoissenet

Established in Beaune in the late 1800s, Remoissenet has long been known for their Grand Cru and Premier Cru productions of both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate operates both as a domaine - using grapes from their own vineyards - and as a negociant - purchasing grapes from the best growers and only buying the best quality grapes and even offering bonuses to growers when the quality exceeds expectations. Everything remains in traditional ways, but the grapes and growers are carefully chosen thus the qualities are extraordinary. Last week, we spotted a case of Remoissenet Pere & Fils Chambertin Clos-de-Beze Grand...

Now in Stock! Superb Vintage, Francois Bertheau Village and 1er Cru

It is always a joy to enjoy a bottle of Chambolle-Musigny from Francois Bertheau. The domaine currently owns about 6 hectares of vineyards scattered over Chambolle-Musigny and also in Bonnes-Mares, the only Grand Cru from the domaine. Half of the vineyards are village level, and this is a fantastic domaine that represents the typicity of the terroirs. They express crystalline purity of fruits by having a mild and soft influence of oak. The production is phenomenally low at around 1,300 cases per year, by definition, these wines will be much harder to find as time passes by. We are delighted to offer...

New Additions of Vincent Dancer Reds and Whites

New Additions of Vincent Dancer Reds and Whites

Having grown up in Alsace with a passion for wine and photography, Vincent Dancer was originally studying to become an engineer, but after spending some time in Burgundy, he decided to settle in Chassagne-Montrachet and make wine from his family-owned vineyards. Only 5 hectares which is relatively small even by Burgundy standards, the vineyards are very well-situated. Vincent took over the domaine in 1996 and bottled his very first vintage in 2003 and was the first producer in Chassagne to become certified organic. Despite being rather low-key, Vincent's wines have become well known to restaurateurs and wine-lovers in the region over the years, known to truly reflect...

93 pts Allen Meadows, 2010 Jean Tardy Echézeaux Les Tres Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru

93 pts Allen Meadows, 2010 Jean Tardy Echézeaux Les Tres Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru

After a successful campaign of Jean Tardy's Echezeaux Les Tres Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru 2005  in 2 weeks ago, we are lucky to be able to source an original case from an outstanding vintage again!  A traditional and small domaine with just 5.5ha of vineyards, Jean Tardy owns a fascinating plot of Les Tres in Echezeaux Grand Cru, a comparatively premier plot adjacent to the Grand-Echezeaux, I find this is a fantastic option to consider today. The domaine is run by Guillaume Tardy and for him, Vintage 2010 is a success in which he describes it as a "cool vintage that achieved remarkably good phenolic ripeness" .Again,...

Tasted & Recommended: 2017 Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru

Tasted & Recommended: 2017 Ramonet Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru

Always at the top of our white wine producer list, Ramonet's wines are always enjoyable from our past tasting experiences and we are sure they will never disappoint buyers who are looking for top-notch Chardonnay that offers a harmonious and joyful experience. Even Clive Coates, Master of Wine, had praised Ramonet to be the “white equivalent of Henri Jayer or DRC”. And despite the amazing quality they produce year after year, they maintain a relatively low profile and are accessible in price. They are extremely protective of the old vines in the vineyards and perform fermentation in stainless steel vats...
