Just arrived this week, we are delighted to offer a parcel of rare Domaine de la Vougeraie Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2002. The vines were located from an exceptionally well positioned 1 ha parcel situated directly beneath Les Petits Musigny and was managed by Pascal Marchard who later established Maison Marchand-Tawse. 2002 is definitely a sheer and successful vintage for Domaine de la Vougeraie and Pascal Marchard, Allen Meadows mentioned that “all of the Vougeraie '02s are most impressive“ and described the Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru “superb density”, “elegant”, “refinded” and “plenty of character”. Domaine des Lambrays in Morey-St-Denis was transformed to a compelling estate with the arrival of genius winemaker Thierry Brouin in 1980. Formerly a consultant for the national French appellation authority INAO (1975-1980) and an oenologist by training, Brouin oversaw the winery’s ascent to glory, securing the promotion of its Clos des Lambrays' promotion to Grand Cru status in just a year. The estate was acquired by French corporation LVMH in 2014 and remains in usual practice with extra financial support to make every drop perfect.
