Starting from HK$990 per Bt, Beautifully Aged Pascal Lachaux from 2005
Founded in 1858, Domaine Robert Arnoux is a family-run estate and had built a reputation for themselves when Pascal Lachaux became fully in charge of the winemaking in 1990 and subsequently took over the domaine when his father-in-law Robert Arnoux passed away in 1995. The domaine currently owns 14.5 hectares of some of the most prized vineyards in Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges, and apart from a small plot of Aligote, all wines are red.
Originally a pharmacist, Pascal was keen to work without insecticides and in a very organic way, aiming to create the best wine possible by investing most of his time in the vineyard as he strongly believes that "without good grapes, you can't make good wine". He chooses to fully destem his fruits and let them go through a pre-fermentation maceration and vinification of 2-3 weeks, which has allowed the wines to show extra roundness and more sophisticated tannins; and uses natural yeasts and ages the wines for around 16 months in French oak with varying levels of new oak usage for Grand Crus (100%), 1er Crus (40-60%) and village (30%). The resulting wines are concentrated and polished, and highly sought-after wines. The Domaine was renamed to Arnoux-Lachaux in 2008 and passed down from Pascal Arnous to his son, the family's sixth generation, Charles Lachaux, in 2012 and has entered into a new exciting era since.
In the 2000s, Pascal Lachaux also produced wines from purchased grapes under "Pascal Lachaux", from a few stunning plots in Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle Musigny, the style remains classic and traditional. We are delighted to be able to offer the following
