Since the foundation in 1843, Krug has had a longstanding reputation for the quality of its champagnes, most especially for its Vintage and Grand Cuvee productions, with a strong global following from wine connoisseurs and Champagne lovers. Richard Juhlin, the renowned Champagne writer, has always been a fan of Krug. He says that their Champagne "stands for artistry, tradition, craftsmanship and moments of pure pleasure" and "are small masterpieces… If the opportunity arises, never miss the chance to drink a Krug!”.
Today we are pleased to offer a parcel of Krug Vintage Brut 2006 for your consideration, their Vintage Champagne has always come in highly limited quantities in comparison to most other Prestige Cuvee Champagnes as they have been extremely discerning in when a vintage champagne should be produced. Because of that, when one is released, there is a solid guarantee on its quality. Due to the worldwide demand, however, prices for Krug Vintage go up fairly quickly upon every release.
And to put Vintage 2006 side-by-side with two epic vintages in Champagne (2002 & 2008), Vintage 2006 received a stunning score from Antonio Galloni and only cost about half of the prices, it makes Krug Vintage Brut 2006 is a fantastic opportunity to buy nowadays -
We are delighted to offer:
Krug Vintage Brut 2006
HK$2,690 per bottle
97pts Antonio Galloni
Krug 2006 Vintage is bright, tense and full of energy. Lemon confit, pastry, chamomile, dried flowers and tangerine oil all race out of the glass. The breadth of the Pinot comes through on the mid-palate and finish, as the 2006 gains power and resonance with a bit of aeration. Light tropical inflections, along with hints of almond and spice, open up later, adding further shades of nuance. Although it has just been released, the 2006 is unusually open and a real pleasure to taste today. In most vintages, Krug demands cellaring, but in the 2006 readers will find a Krug Vintage that is superb, even in the early going.
