The Top Three: Comte Georges de Vogue, Georges Roumier & JF Mugnier
Often regarded as the most "feminine" wine of the Cote de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny was one of the first French vineyards to be designated as an AOC and the wines produced here are often found to offer intensity and delicacy as well as elegance and subtlety. Two superb appellations Grands Crus are grown here: Bonnes-Mares, which links its vineyards to those of Morey-Saint-Denis, and Musigny which overlooks the Clos de Vougeot. The village also boasts among its fine wines a prestigious Premier Cru, Les Amoureuses. Today we are pleased to share with you our latest list of wines from three predominant producers in Chambolle Musigny: Georges Roumier, Jacques-Frederic Mugnier...
Blended from 1er Cru Grapes: "Sweet Spot Outstanding", Perrot-Minot Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes 2016
With history dating back as far as the late 19th Century, Christophe Perrot-Minot took over the domaine from his father Henri in 1993, right after his 7 years of practice as a professional wine broker. The estate has holdings that came from his maternal grandfather Merme which explains the similarity of their holdings with Domaine Taupenot-Merme, and also from an acquisition of Domaine Pernin-Rossin in 2000. Their approach to viticulture is to give full respect to the terroir and nature, in which no chemical fertilizers or herbicides are used. With an amazing holding of old vines aged from 40 to 100 years old, the...

Nicolas Potel started out with a successful negotiant business in 1996 and has since been known to produce some of the most best-valued Burgundies. He developed an extensive sourcing network for high-quality grapes and the skills to produce fantastic Burgundies at excellent price tags. Due to financial hardship, he decided to sell his business to the Cottin brothers of Labouré-Roi in 2004 and continued to produce wines under the label until he set up a new label Roche de Bellene in 2008 to continue his magnificent business in Beaune. With the new label, Nicolas Potel has been aggressively working on biodynamic...
Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé: Village & 1er Cru from 2002 - 2009
Unlike many estates in Burgundy, de Vogüé has ancient architectural and viticultural origins, tracing its beginnings to the 15th century with ownership passing through 20 generations to the present proprietors; and the current label began with Comte Georges de Vogüé who took over in 1925. They own 7.25 hectares of the fabled Le Musigny vineyard which constitutes 80% of the whole site, 2.75 hectares of Bonnes-Mares,1.8 hectares of Premier Cru Chambolle-Musigny, and some Chambolle-Musigny villages. The vineyards are run more or less organically though they do not claim organic status. In the cellar, winemaking techniques are adapted to suit the...
