Founded by Robert Groffier’s father, Jules in the 1950s, the Robert Groffier Pere et Fils is based in Morey-St-Denis and is now run by Robert’s grandson, Nicolas. They own a large plot in Chambolle-Musigny and in fact they are the largest owner of Les Amoureuses. We have spotted a fantastic opportunity of Vintage 2019 which has received a fabulous 94-96pts from Jasper Morris, putting this with the leader such as Georges Roumier and Comte Georges de Vogüé, Robert Groffier's Les Amoureuses performance sheers in 2019 but cost much lower than the counterparts with details as shown below -

50% whole bunch, 20% new wood, 60 year old vines. Impressively rich deep purple. The Amoureuses has a sumptuous character that the Bonnes Mares eschews. Even some chocolate notes, but it is by no means over-ripe, and certainly the fresh acidity keeps the tension going at the back. Exciting and with good persistence. Tasted Nov 2020.
