large powerhouse based in Nuits-St-Georges of Burgundy, Domaine Faiveley was founded back in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley and now managed by the seventh generation, brother and sister Erwan and Eve Faiveley. They are currently one of the biggest domaines in Burgundy, and probably one of the very best producers of Burgundy wine, most known for their Pinot Noir production.
With holdings of over 120 hectares of vines spread across the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise, Domaine Faiveley boasts an exceptional wine heritage and includes some of the best Grand Cru and Premiers Cru plots, cultivating both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The grapes are destemmed completely and fermented in new wooden vats for the finer wines, while using conical stainless steel tanks for the lesser cuvées. Premier and grand cru wines may receive two-thirds of new wood. Many of their top wines are hand-bottled with no filtration, resulting in clean, opulent wines that often show their Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as their best.
