Founded by Robert Groffier’s father, Jules in the 1950s, the Robert Groffier Pere et Fils is based in Morey-St-Denis and is now run by Robert’s grandson, Nicolas. The domaine produces stunning wines from Chambolle-Musigny with fantastic parcels from Les Hauts Doix 1er Cru which is just meters below the famous Les Amoureuses 1er Cru. In recent years, Nicolas applies whole bunch fermentation to preserve the fruitiness from the grapes and manages with less oak influence to the wines. Making it more approachable during their young ages and balanced with acidity.

One third new wood. An even ruby crimson. Quite a depth of mixed red and black fruits, a little softer and fuller on the palate, still adequate acidity, tannins completely covered by the fruit. Oak returns at the back. Drink from 2030-2035. Tasted Nov 2024.
