Best Market Price: Soldera 1999 & 2001

Founded in 1972 by Gianfranco and Graziella Soldera, the estate was born from a quest for purity and authenticity in winemaking. The Solderas transformed an abandoned property into a vibrant ecosystem, where ancient Sangiovese vines thrive alongside botanical gardens and olive groves. Every aspect of vineyard management is done by hand, with a steadfast refusal to use chemicals, ensuring that nature’s rhythms dictate the pace. Today, the estate remains fiercely devoted to its founding principles, producing wines that are as much a reflection of the land as they are of the family’s enduring philosophy.

In the case of Gianfranco Soldera's Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, it is a sheer product of his own testament. The 1999 and 2001 stood out at 95pts and 96pts from Antonio Galloni. These are top-rated Sangiovese with depth and precision. In stock and currently these are ^the lowest prices in the market, we are delighted to offer:

1999 Case Basse di Gianfranco Soldera Toscana IGT - Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
HK$8,800 per bottle, 5 bottles in stock

95pts Antonio Galloni
The 1999 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is an unquestionable success. It displays heady, complex aromas of smoke, tar and scorched earth, along with plenty of sweet dark fruit and tobacco flavors, in a potent, brooding style showing a rich inner tension between its fruit and the structure of the vintage. It should drink well to age twenty-five. Even though it carries an exorbitant price tag, the Riserva is well worth the extra dollars in vintage 1999. A great effort.

2001 Case Basse di Gianfranco Soldera Toscana IGT - Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
HK$8,000 per bottle, 1 bottle in stock

96pts Antonio Galloni
Soldera's 2001 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is just as it was when I tasted it from barrel last year, which is to say monumental. This silky-textured Brunello offers an array of crushed flowers, spices and deeply-layered dark red fruit in a style that manages to be both delicate and powerful at the same time. Deceptively medium-bodied at this stage, it appears to be holding back much of its potential but will be a remarkable wine in another decade or so. This is a superb effort from Montalcino's most eccentric producer.
