Champagne Franck Pascal Quinte-Essence and Liberance
An industrial mechanical engineer who studied viticulture and oenology then became one of the most interesting artisanal Champagne growers, Franck Pascal cultivates 7 ha. of vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne. He has started biodynamic practices since 2002, nowadays Franck harvests about 60% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay. He keeps the yields extremely low, vinifies in old wooden vats and only indigenous yeasts are used. This results in some pure, highly finessed Champagne with solid mineriality influences.
Quinte-Essence Extra Brut Millesime, the flagship from Franck Pascal. The whole name is about the creativity of the winemaker: "How can I create a vintage showing the quintessence of the year?". Around 66% of Pinot Meunier and 34% of Chardonnay in the blend with around 2g/L dosage to finish a bold and structured cuvee, stays with lees between 10-15 years before release. On the other hand, the Liberance Brut Nature 2015 which is made from 86% Pinot Meunier, 10% Pinot Noir and 4% Chardonnay. Stayed in the bottle with lees for 4 years, this is a zero-dosage cuvee to present the best from 2015.
