Nuits-Saint-Georges is situated in the Côte de Nuits region of Côte-d’Or, right between Beaune and Dijon, and is the second largest commune after Gevrey-Chambertin with more than 306ha of wine-producing land. It predominantly produces red wine but has minuscule productions of white as well. It holds only Premier Crus - a total of 41 of them to this date - spanning across Nuits-Saint-Georges as well as Premeaux.
 
The reds, when young, have aromas of cherry, strawberry and blackcurrant, and when mature, there are stronger hints of leather, truffle, fur and game. Its wines are full-bodied, muscular and vigorous. Best enjoyed after cellaring for several years.
