Late Release! Old Vintage Champagne from Fleury between 1992 to 1999
Champagne Fleury is a Récoltant-Manipulant (a grower who makes and markets Champagne under their own label) which has a very long history in Cote des Bars. The house was established in 1895 by Jean-Pierre Fleury's grandfather, Emile, and is still owned by the family till this day. The Champagne house owns 15 hectares of vineyard in which 90% are planted with Pinot Noir and the rest with Chardonnay. They were a pioneer in planting organically since 1970, and they were also accredited with biodynamic certification in 1989 which was also the first among growers in Champagne and have been successfully cultivating healthy grapes year after year. To let each terroir shine on its own, Jean-Pierre Fleury separates his lands into different plots to differentiate the styles and characteristics of each in which he typically applies low dosages.
The house released a tiny proportion of old bottles from its prestigious cellar, with extension of second fermentation and being unmoved until recent release, creating an ultimate expression of vintage characteristics as well as structure and power.
