The Lacourte-Godbillon brand was established in 1968 but had a long history growing crops and selling them to big and famous Champagne houses. A grower Champagne house, they believe that the best champagne can be only made from top quality work in the vineyard. They own 20.5 acres of vineyards planted 85% to Pinot Noir and 15% to Chardonnay which are all situated in Ecueil except for 1.2 acres that are in the neighbouring village of Les Mesneux. Their vines have an average age of 30 years. The oak that creates Lacourte-Godbillon's barrels is from the Ecueil forest or Champagne-Ardenne. The wines stay in these barrels for the entirety of autumn in order to develop outstanding complexity and for each wine to express itself on its own.
