😇New Stock including Mugneret-Gibourg New Cuvee Bourgogne Rouge Les Lutenieres 2023

Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg was established in Vosne-Romanee in 1933 by Jeanne Gibourg and AndrĂ© Mugneret and produced Bourgogne Rouge, Vosne-RomanĂ©e, Nuits-Saint-Georges and Echezeaux Grand Cru. When their son, Georges Mugneret who was originally an ophthalmologist took over, he acquired more plots such as Clos Vougeot Grand Cru in 1953, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er cru in 1971, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru in 1977, Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vignes Rondes in 1982 and Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru “Les Feusselottes” in 1985 and he became the driving force of the domaine, leading it to become one of the powerhouses in Vosne-Romanee. The domaine is now passed down to the third generation in the family - Marie-Christine and Marie-Andree - daughters of Georges Mugneret. Their wines remain consistent in quality and remains one of the very top producers in Vosne-Romanee. Critics and professionals have never been shy to show their appreciation for this domaine -

“Over the past few years, I can't think of any domaine that has performed better.” - Allen Meadows

“People often ask: "What is your favorite Burgundy grower" to which I often reply: "Mugneret-Gibourg."” - Neal Martin

We have acquired a few Mugneret-Gibourg from Vintage 2021 and 2023, including a newly named Bourgogne Rouge Les Lutenieres 2023 which grapes are from a vineyard located below La Croix Blanche and Au Dessus de la RiviÚre, which were considered to be Vosne villages before the AOC system was established. Full details below -

Georges Mugneret-Gibourg  Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Chaignots 1er Cru  2021
HK$5,800 per bottle, 6 available
92-94pts William Kelley
Cropped at a derisory 16 hectoliters per hectare, the Mugnerets were obliged to retain some whole bunches with the 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots simply to fill the fermentation vat. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with sweet tannins and an ample core of fruit, it's redolent of wild berries, rose petals and spices

Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Échezeaux Grand Cru 2021
HK$2,190 per bottle, 6 available
92-94pts William Kelley
Cropped at a mere 17 hectoliters per hectare, the 2021 Echezeaux Grand Cru offers up aromas of red berries, cherries, peonies, sweet spices, orange rind and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy, with an ample core of fruit, lively acids and a bright, saline finish, it's deceptively concentrated and penetrating despite its elegant profile

Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Bourgogne Rouge Les Lutenieres 2023
HK$1,280 per bottle, 6 available
87-88pts William Kelley
The 2023 Bourgogne Les LuteniÚres offers up aromas of sweet plums, cherries and creamy new oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and open-knit palate that's giving and supple. This cuvée can often nip at the heals of the Vosne-Romanée, but this year the gap in concentration is a touch more noticeable.
