Joseph Drouhin, a powerhouse in Beaune that started as a negotiant in 1880, now owns ~60 hectares of vineyard in Bourgogne including some of the most renowned around the globe - Beaune Clos des Mouches, Chambertin, Clos de Beze, Echezeaux, Musigny, etc. Making all its wines in a perfectionist manner, Joseph Drouhin is a reliable name to follow for both reds and whites. The house style captures the purity of fruits with shorter aging period in oak and earlier bottling to preserve the charming fruitiness and reflect the terroir in which the grapes were from; specifically on whites, they are pure, offering complete cleanliness in the palate. It is one of the most reliable names to chase for, and never get disappointed when you have a bottle on the dining table!
Joseph Drouhin produces a very high-quality Les Amoureuses 1er Cru and the vintage 2018 received an excellent 95 Points score from Burghound's Allen Meadows. Among the second highest score and only Vintage 1961 received 96 Points, it looks very tempting -

This is perhaps the most floral-infused wine in the range with terrific layering that includes perfumed notes of exotic tea, clove, red and dark fruit and a whiff of sandalwood. The refined, markedly stony and wonderfully delineated flavors possess a beguiling underlying tension before culminating in a palate coating, balanced and firm finale. This is exceptionally classy and I very much like the Zen-like sense of harmony. In short, this is a knockout.
