Champagne Jules Brochet is a rising name in grower Champagne, founded in 2019 by Pierric Brochet in Taissy, Montagne de Reims. Named after his great grandfather, Pierric inherited the family vines and trained briefly under Jacques Selosse, which shows in his style. his sister, Madeleine bottles her own share with the name under “Madeleine Brochet”.
He farms 4.5 hectares across Taissy, Mailly, Aÿ, Rilly la Montagne and Barzy sur Marne organically, with no ploughing and sheep instead of tractors, giving low yields. In the cellar there's no filtration, no chaptalization, no stabilization, only indigenous yeasts, and aging in large oak rather than steel. The result is a reductive, Selosse adjacent style.
