Founded in 1849 in Épernay, the Pol Roger family has come to its sixth generations and committed to quality and excellence, carving out a prestigious reputation among leading Champagne brands. Pol Roger's most famous association is with Sir Winston Churchill, who was an avid fan of their Champagne. In honor of this connection, Pol Roger created the Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill in 1975, first released in 1984 with the 1975 vintage. This prestige cuvée is only produced in exceptional years and is considered the pinnacle of Pol Roger's offerings.

The Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is a closely guarded secret blend, though it is known to be predominantly Pinot Noir, with recent vintages containing up to 90% of this grape variety. The Champagne is crafted to match Churchill's preference for robust, full-bodied wines, using grapes exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. Typically released about a decade after the vintage year, Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill is known for its power, complexity, and aging ability.

This is the latest release of this legendary wine. A blend, although with a majority of Pinot Noir (Churchill's preference), the wine is rich, just beginning to show wonderful signs of maturity. It still has intense fruit along with the taut mineral texture that will allow the wine to age further. It is a standout Champagne from this vintage.
