Burgundy's rich tradition of philanthropy takes an exciting new form with the Climats du Coeur project, a collaboration involving some of the region's most celebrated winemakers. This initiative builds upon the longstanding charitable heritage exemplified by the Hospices de Beaune, which dates back to 1443 and held its first auction in 1859.
 
The Climats du Coeur project represents a unique "supergroup" of Burgundy's finest vintners, including luminaries such as Aubert de Villaine and Veronique Drouhin. These esteemed winemakers have joined forces to create exceptional 1er Cru cuvées using grapes donated by their equally prestigious neighbors and peers, including Comtes Liger-Belair, Grivot, and Meo-Camuzet. The resulting wines, bottled exclusively in magnums, have become the ultimate collector's dream for Burgundy enthusiasts.
 
With only 1,000 cases produced, these rare wines sold out immediately upon release and are seldom seen on the open market. The project's inception was made possible by the bountiful 2009 vintage, as subsequent years marred by hail damage in Meursault might have prevented growers like Comtes Lafon, Roulot, and Albert Grivault from contributing their prized 1er Cru grapes.

These wines represent not unique collaborations between Burgundy's most renowned winemakers but also one-of-a-kind blends of 1er Cru fruit from outstanding domaines.
