Outscored Roumier at only 9.7% of its price: Drouhin Laroze Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2004

Here the wood is much more tightly integrated with the earthy dark fruit aromas nuanced by traces of violets, licorice and a very subtle hint of mocha. The big, robust and muscular flavors offer a lovely sweetness with excellent depth and a forward but mouth coating finish of serious length. This is a big wine though not as structured as some in this range; still, it's going to require 8 to 10 years to be at its best.
