Henri Giraud is a prestigious name known for producing rich, extensive and powerful wine. Founded way back in 1625, Henri Giraud is one of the oldest Champagne houses in the region and is still a family-run business which is currently owned by twelfth generation Claude Giraud, with his son managing the company while son-in-law being the head winemaker.

Their wines are 100% oak-fermented and the house insists on producing with oak casks from the forest in Aÿ to impose the forest terroir into the wine, giving it one of the most unique flavors among Champagnes in the world. Their star production is "Argonne" which was first released in 2002 after years of research. The Argonne cuvée is produced with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, all from the best vineyards in Aÿ (100% Grand Crus), and then exclusively vinified in new casks made from Argonne wood then age 7 more years in the bottle on its yeasts.
