Limited Release: 1996 Tarlant Cuvee Louis Brut Nature

Tarlant produces some of the best quality Champagne and each release is immediately enjoyable, thanks to the excellent skills and experience of their winemaker Benoit Tarlant. Their flagship Champagne, Cuvee Louis, is fermented in old oak barrels and spends over 10 years in the bottle to age. A flagship cuvee of the gorgeous producer, Cuvee Louis includes a high proportion of reserve wines to create a unique, rich, complex and nuanced experience - the epitome of a style that has drawn widespread praise by critics worldwide -

“Opulent wine that is very high class” -  Richard Juhlin

“Reminiscent of a grand cru white Burgundy with bubbles” - Robert Parker

“Remarkable Cuvee Louis. Krug style” - Hugh Johnson

Recently, Tarlant has released a special edition of Cuvee Louis Brut Nature with all of the grapes coming from the outstanding 1996 vintage, whereas the bottles stayed with the lees for 25 years before disgorgement, which becomes one of the rarest finds -

1996 Tarlant Cuvee Louis Brut Nature (Disgorged in 2023)
HK$1,450 per bottle

Blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. A single-vintage Cuvée Louis sourced from 70-year-old vines in ‘Les Crayons,’ Oeuilly, on the Marne’s left bank. Vinified and fermented in oak barrels, the wine underwent 26 years of lees ageing prior to disgorgement in 2023. The extended maturation imparts pronounced autolytic complexity with notes of toast and dried fruit, supported by a broad, concentrated palate and a persistent, finely textured finish. A Champagne of exceptional precision and maturity.
