Henri Germain is considered to be a benchmark white wine producer and is widely appreciated by Burgundians as well as other Burgundy producers as its wines are unique in style and offer great quality. Their wines attract great demand from wine collectors from all over the world and are some of the rarest wines in trade nowadays. Even legendary Burgundy producer Bruno Clair who does not offer praise easily had praised the high standard of viticulture practised by Henri Germain's winemaker, Jean-Francois Germain.
The winemaking methods are very traditional, use organic farming, low yields and maintain minimum influence in the cellar. The wines are hardly ever racked and the élevage lasts 18 months for the village wines and a full 22 months for the others, and are rarely fined or filtered. Burghound’s Allen Meadows is seriously a big follower of Henri Germain’s wines and has praised their wines over and over again, and said,
“I have been saying it for years but I will say it again: if you don’t know these wines, you should because the quality is just too good to ignore. The style is intensely classic…”
