With a history dating as far back as 1731, Bouchard Père et Fils is one of most famous winegrowers, négociants, and producers based in Beaune. They hold the finest plots in Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, in which more than two-thirds hold Grand Cru and Premier Cru statuses. They have a fantastic line-up of both reds and whites produced from its 130 hectares of vineyard in Bourgogne. With both financial and winemaking arms, they produce wines that effectively express different climats with quality being consistently excellent year after year, attributed to the intensive work carried out from vineyard to bottle. Their wine is highly popular among Burgundy lovers as they offer amazing value for money compared to other producers that produce the same.
Bouchard Père & Fils’ Vosne‑Romanée Aux Reignots is essentially the historic négociant bottling partner for the Liger‑Belair family’s Aux Reignots fruit, with Bouchard managing élevage and commercialization for many decades before Louis‑Michel Liger‑Belair rebuilt the domaine and took it back. During a transition phase, wine from these parcels was effectively split: part still went to Bouchard (who bottled under its own label), and part was bottled as Domaine du Comte Liger‑Belair, until Louis‑Michel fully commercialised the whole harvest himself from mid‑2000s vintages onward.
