Champagne Siret Frère et Soeur is one of the most talked about grower champagnes recently. For years the estate's Chardonnay and Pinot Noir went straight into the blending vats of Krug and Salon, two of the region's most exacting houses. Only recently did the sister and brother team behind the domaine begin bottling a small quantity under their own name. Their 25 plots span two very different terroirs, chalky Côte des Blancs sites in Ambonnay and Oger alongside cooler Côte des Bar parcels, giving them raw material with genuine depth. Every cuvée is fermented with natural yeasts, numbered by bottle, and rested a minimum of 48 months in the cellar before release, a level of patience rare even among grower producers.
The flagship NV Réserve Perpétuelle is a solera style blend of roughly 60 percent Pinot Noir and 40 percent Chardonnay drawn from eight different vintages, finished with a low dosage that lets the fruit speak. Alongside it sits a 2020 Rosé de Saignée made entirely from Pinot Noir, plus a barrel aged 2014 Blanc de Blancs Vintage from Côte des Blancs fruit showing the density of Chardonnay and a 2018 Blanc de Noirs which comes as the most structured cuvee of the line.
