Consulted by Louis-Michel Liger-Belair: Pommard Clos de la Commaraine Monopole 2018 & 2021
Clos de la Commaraine is a historic 3.75-ha monopole, premier cru-status vineyard, located on the north of Pommard. A true "Clos" with walls enclosing the monopole and the Chateau. In Jean-Francois Bazin's "Le Vin de Bourgogne" ("Wines of Burgundy"), he commented that Clos de la Commaraine is among the three vineyards that should be considered as Grand Cru vineyards. And for Louis-Michel Liger-Belair from one of the top Vosne-Romanee producers to be managing the production of this wine is absolutely exhilarating news for any Burgundy lover out there.
