"Baby Amoureuses", 2010 Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny Les Hauts Doix 1er Cru

Founded by Robert Groffier’s father, Jules in the 1950s, the Robert Groffier Pere et Fils is based in Morey-St-Denis and is now run by Robert’s grandson, Nicolas. They own a large plot in Chambolle-Musigny and in fact they are the largest owner of Les Amoureuses. The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Hauts Doix is one their flagship parcels, located just a few meters below Les Amoureuses 1er Cru and is often the most surprising wine in blind tastings.

From an outstanding year of Burgundy red, we have spotted a new purchase of Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny Les Hauts Doix 1er Cru 2010 which are in pristine conditions and cellared by case throughout the decade. There aren't too many in the market so do let us know if you would like a few -

Robert Groffier Chambolle-Musigny Les Hauts Doix 1er Cru 2010
HK$2,180 per bottle, 12 bottles available
91pts Stephen Tanzer
Medium red. Expressive aromas of purple fruits, violet, licorice and spices. Precise and energetic but a bit youthfully clenched; perhaps a bit hardened by the sulfur addition two weeks before my tasting but without any rough edges. Finishes savory and long, with dusty tannins and very good cling. These vines now average 28 years of age, noted Groffier, and produced just 14 hectoliters per hectare in 2010 .

Subject to final confirmation. ETA 3-4 weeks.
