Domaine Armelle et Bernard Rion is a family-owned winery located in Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy, France, with a rich history dating back to 1896. Now in its fifth generation, the estate is managed by Armelle and Bernard Rion, along with their three daughters: Nelly, Alice, and Melissa.
The domaine spans approximately 8 hectares, primarily in the Côte de Nuits region, with 85% of their vineyards planted with Pinot Noir. Their vineyards are situated in some of Burgundy's most prestigious appellations, including Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Vougeot.
Known for their commitment to quality, the Rion family employs traditional winemaking methods, with most of the work, including harvesting, done by hand. Their vines are between 50 and 100 years old, contributing to the unique terroir taste in their wines.
Acquired from a cellar in Burgundy, we are excited to receive a parcel of old vintage Armelle et Bernard Rion Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Murgers 1er Cru 1997, 1997 is an excellent vintage of Pinot Noir in Burgundy with <Decanter> rated it at 4 out of 5 points. Sadly we only have 16 bottles available and it would be very difficult to source again once they have been sold -
