An Exciting Name Not to be Missed: Petit Roy by Seiichi Saito

A micro-negotiant business developed by a Japanese expat with Chinese origins, Seiichi Saito has successfully started his exciting journey by producing some exciting wines in Burgundy. In 2006, Seiichi Saito started his studies in Beaune and relocated to Burgundy in 2008 in order to study the “next big thing” in the wine world. To develop his skills, Seiichi Saito also collected his profound knowledge by co-working in Domaine Armand Rousseau, Leflaive, and Jacques Frederic Mugnier.

Petit-Roy’s collection has been widely seen in Japanese wine bars and restaurants but seldom in other places due to its limited production. Seiichi owns a tiny 2.1 ha of vineyards nowadays which are cultivated in biodynamic practices, less SO2 is applied without filtration to produce the wines in natural ways. The wines are fully extracted from fruits with energy, extraordinary considering their appellations which always over-achieved what drinkers expect.
