A family-run estate for thousands years: Recently disgorged 1977 Champagne from Saint-Sauveur

A family-run champagne estate located in the Côte des Blancs region, specifically in Vertus, France. Champagne Saint-Sauveur has been managed by artisan winegrowers since 1886, spanning five generations and maintaining a strong connection to the local terroir and winemaking traditions. The estate is named after the historic Saint-Sauveur Abbey, which once stood on or near the site and was associated with centuries of monastic viticulture in the area. The current family ownership began in 1886, when Thomas Charles (Edmond) acquired the Saint-Sauveur estate. Since then, five generations have preserved and expanded the family’s vineyards, blending traditional methods with innovation to adapt to challenges such as phylloxera in the late 19th century and the devastation of World War II. Each generation has taken care to nurture the land, focus on terroir, and refine winemaking techniques, in line with the values of patience, attentiveness, and excellence that define Champagne winegrowers.

An extremely rare opportunity, we have access to a parcel of 1977 Vintage Champagne which has just disgorged from Saint-Sauveur.
