Arrive in 2 weeks: Domaine Naudin-Ferrand from Claire Naudin
Claire Naudin-Ferrand is one of the three daughters of Henri Naudin-Ferrand and wife of Jean-Yves Bizot, and has been in charge of Domain Naudin-Ferrand since 1994. Though this estate has been in the family for several generations, having studied geology and agronomy, Claire was keen to produce wines her own way and travelled in Australia and New Zealand before she took over the Domaine. Claire takes a very minimalist-intervention wine-making approach in which she does not use any chemicals in the vineyard, therefore only uses natural yeasts and only adds a very small amount of sulphur before bottling. No filtration is carried out and she prefers to rack the wines a few extra times before bottling - all to ensure to produce a more natural wine. She even argues with appellation standards, feeling that some of the rules are detrimental to the quality of soil which in turn impacts the quality of the wine. Because of her meticulousness and high standards, Domaine Naudin-Ferrand has minuscule production throughout their village to Grand Cru productions and therefore not always easily found in the market; and though their wines are produced in a region that can easily demand high prices, Claire has maintained highly reasonable prices for her excellent quality wine.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality, making these a very tempting proposition and not likely to hang around for long. I am delighted to offer:
Subject to final confirmation. All of the above are 750ml. ETA 2 weeks.
