The Pernot family hold the second largest area of vines in Puligny-Montrachet after Leflaive, with around 20 hectares of vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, around 80% is sold to famous negociants such as Joseph Drouhin and they keep the best grapes for their own label. Robert Parker has been one of the admirers of Paul Pernot’s label, "The Domaine Pernot makes some exquisite white wines… However, few people are aware of just how stunning these wines can be." Clive Coates MW is also a fan, highlighting Pernot as "a very good domaine" where the "quality is very high", resulting in "consistent enthusiastic notes of Pernot wines."
 
Paul Pernot had a successful vintage in 2010 and the Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet 2010 is among the best according to Allen Meadows’ Burghound, which received the same score with Ramonet and a point above Domaine Leflaive. Production of Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet is extremely small with only 0.37ha of vines, Allen Meadows was not shy to talk about Paul Pernot 2010:

This is aromatically quite similar to the Pucelles but with the addition of a hint of wood toast and more overall complexity. The ripe, cool and again, ultra-pure middle weight flavors display a silky and wonderfully sophisticated mouth feel before terminating in an explosively long and dramatic finish. This is a strikingly precise, balanced and harmonious Bienvenues that is the picture of style and grace. Note that there is just a hint of youthful austerity but this should pass with bottle age.
