Domaine de la Vougeraie is one of our favourites and comes up regularly in our offers as they too are widely popular among Burgundy lovers and get sold out fairly quickly. We have recently secured a parcel of mature Domaine de la Vougeraie at fantastic prices so wonder if it would appeal to you?
 
Domaine de la Vougeraie owns a number of fantastic terroirs in Bourgogne, including 6 Grand Crus such as Musigny, Bonnes Mares and Charmes-Chambertin les Mazoyeres, all managed by Pascal Marchand and Pierre Vincent. They offer a broad selection from village to Grand Cru that never disappoint drinkers in value and quality. All their vineyards are credited in biodynamic farming and small yields; and they are very strict in the picking of grapes during the harvesting season, making sure their grapes are of the highest standard for the juice. In addition, their wines are never over-oaked and are charming from young to mature, always fragrant, delicate and pure!
 
Domaine de la Vougeraie also owns three monopoles with two located in Vougeot. Bordering Les Petits Vougeot and the southern side of Les Amoureuses and Le Musigny, Clos du Prieure has 1.0019 ha planted with Pinot Noir that only around 2,500 bottles are produced each year. It was awarded 90 pts from Neal Martin who describes it “a Vosne-like silkiness on the finish” and “This is well worth seeking out”. This comes highly recommended -

The 2014 Vougeot 1er Cru le Clos de Prieuré (bottled in July) has an elegant, mineral-tinged bouquet, the 70% whole cluster fruit lending details and freshness. The palate is sweet and ripe on the entry with fine tannins; it is pretty, with pure red cherry and strawberry fruit with a Vosne-like silkiness on the finish. This is well worth seeking out.
