Sylvain Dussort took over the estate in 1982 and owns just six hectare of vineyards located down on Rue Charles Giraud in Meursault. While most of the practices are in traditional ways, the estate is now passed to the younger generation, Sylvain’s daughter Anne-Caroline who works alongside together nowadays. With previous experience in the wine business in New York, Anne-Caroline brings a modern and international perspectives to the traditional estate.
 
According to Steen Öhman’s visit and tasting with the Vintage 2020, Sylvain Dussort’s wines have “a solid identity and substantial mid-palate stance” and “The wines at Dussort are very good”. Remains at an excellent price-tag nowadays, we are delighted to offer 2020 Sylvain Dussort Meursault Vieilles Vignes at competitive prices -

90pts Allen Meadoiws” Oustanding”
A very Meursault nose is comprised by ripe notes of hazelnut, white orchard fruit and acacia blossom. There is a lovely texture to the notably rich medium-bodied flavors that exude evident minerality that adds a sense of lift to the delicious, complex and balanced finale that exhibits excellent length. This is a quality Meursault villages and worth checking out.
 
90pts Steen Öhman “Very Good”
This wine is made from vines older than 50 years from several plots with complementary soil types. The Meursault VV is aged in barrels (a maximum of 30% new) and on its lees for 12-14 months, before being racked for blending into a vat prior to bottling after 16-18 months. The result is a rich, minerally intense wine. It’s crystal clear and delicate, and its high percentage of Tessons really shines through. This is more refined that the 2019, and offers another side of the Meursault appellation from the Bourgogne. Serve cold and enjoy; this is hedonistic juice for your pleasure! It should be noted that the Tessons plot is owned by the village itself, and that name therefore cannot be used on this cuvée.
