Anthony Hamilton Russell took over the estate in 1994 and did profound research of the soil composition, and he identified 52 hectares of stony, clay-rich, shale-derived soil are ideal for vine growing. With the vineyard being situated close to the sea, it receives cool breezes making it an ideal ground to grow Pinot Noir. After years of hard work in the vineyards, Hamilton Russell Vineyards is one of the top estates in the New World that offers wines with great similarity to that of the wines produced from Burgundy but with an unbelievable price tag that is hard to resist buying when it is available.
