Henri Giraud is a prestigious name known for producing rich, extensive and powerful wine. Founded way back in 1625, Henri Giraud is one of the oldest Champagne houses in the region and is still a family-run business which is currently owned by twelfth generation Claude Giraud, with his son managing the company while son-in-law being the head winemaker.
 
Their wines are 100% oak-fermented and the house insists on producing with oak casks from the forest in Aÿ to impose the forest terroir into the wine, giving it one of the most unique flavors among Champagnes in the world. Their star production is "Argonne" which was first released in 2002 after years of research. The Argonne cuvée is produced with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, all from the best vineyards in Aÿ (100% Grand Crus), and then exclusively vinified in new casks made from Argonne wood then ages 7 more years in the bottle on its yeasts. 
 
The latest release is 2015 vintage whilst we are lucky to source 6 bottles of 2002 vintage today, which is the first vintage of the Argonne cuvée release. Only 750 cases made and now nearly impossible to find globally, the Argonne 2002 is one of the most stylistic wines not to be missed in your collection -
