Burgundy Trip Highlight:🌟A Rising Star, Domaine Berlancourt

Established in 2008, Domaine Berlancourt is one of the smallest Domaines in Burgundy which is located in Meursault. Adrien Berlancourt has been exposed to different wines since a very young age, and when he was just 20 years old in 2008, he already finished working at Etienne Sauzet and Domaine Trapet, then together with his father Pierre aimed to produce the most natural and high-quality Chardonnay.

Pierre was a high-regarded sommelier, who is a very good friend with two of the Burgundy legends Jean-Francois Coche Dury and the ex-DRC winemaker Bernard Noblet. They visit the domaine twice a year to taste the wines and offer suggestions.

Last week, the visit of Domaine Berlancourt was impressive, when we arrived the estate in Meursault, Adrien was working hard with his worker in digging a new underground cave in his house. He guided us to another underground cave which he used to age the wines in the past and tasted some of his wines. Although with only 1.5 hectares of vineyard, they have managed to produce four wines in separate plots, all bottled as Bourgogne Blanc. They farmed the vines 100% organically with all work done by hand. Adrien decided to harvest comparatively late to give his wines abundant aromas, with a minimum influence in the cellar without lees stirring, and the wines are fermented and aged in oak for up to 3 years, with each cuvee spent up to 18-20 months before bottling.

Due to the minuscule of his production, and thanks to the network of his father Pierre, most of these bottles are sent to Michelin restaurants in Europe after release. All of the wines have been sold from the domaine and the next release would be Vintage 2020 in next year.  I am delighted to offer the last parcel of Bourgogne Cuvee la Demoiselle 2018 in our stock,  immediately available for delivery -
