Charles Heidsieck was founded in Reims of Champagne in 1851 and though it is the smallest of the Grandes Marques champagne houses, it is one of the best-known producers for both vintage and non-vintage cuvée.
Launched in 2017, La Collection Crayères offers oenophiles the opportunity to experience exceptional vintages that have undergone extended aging. The collection showcases carefully preserved vintages from Charles Heidsieck's extensive underground chalk cellars, known as "crayères," which span 5 miles of tunnels connecting 47 Gallo-Roman galleries in Reims. These rare Champagnes highlight the remarkable aging potential of Charles Heidsieck's wines and demonstrate how extended time on lees can unlock complex aromas and flavors.
