💎RARE: Early Disgorged Ulysse Collin Les Maillons

An apprentice of Anselme Selosse in the early 2000s, Olivier Collin of Ulysse Collin has been producing great terroir-driven wines with immense intensity and depth since 2004; and nowadays generating huge demand in the trade market and almost impossible to find.
Based in Congy, a little to the southwest of the Côte des Blancs, Olivier's family's vines were originally rented out to a large Champagne house, but he got them back in 2003 to produce his own wines with the first vintage being 2004. Olivier studied law for 8 years before turning to winegrowing, and he completed a three-month internship with Anselme Selosse in 2001 before setting out on his own. As with Anselme, everything at Ulysse Collin goes through barrels; and all his fermentations are in oak. Between 20 and 40% of the wines each year are kept back as reserves; and barrel ageing of the base wines has increased from 10 months in 2004 to 13 months in 2006. Dosage remains low at around 1.7-2.4 g/litre across all 5 wines that he creates.
