Domaine Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier, founded in 1863 by Frédéric Mugnier, is a prestigious Burgundy wine estate based in Chambolle-Musigny. Known for its elegant Pinot Noir wines, the domaine owns exceptional vineyards, including Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, and the monopole Clos de la Maréchale in Nuits-Saint-Georges. After decades of vineyard leases, Frédéric Mugnier, the fifth generation, took full control in 1985 and has since elevated the estate to global acclaim for its refined and terroir-driven wines.

Sweet hard candy, flowers and licorice are some of the many nuances that emerge from a wine that represents a quintessential expression of Chambolle and the vintage. The 2009 is intensely perfumed, sexy and inviting. It is a great introduction to the wines of Frederic Mugnier.

A reasonably fresh and quite expressive red berry fruit nose displays a very subtle hint of spiciness that continues onto the rich, generous and mouth coating middle weight flavors that exude a fine minerality on the delicious and solidly lingering finish. This has the balance to age but also the fat to allow it to be enjoyed young. A very fine villages.
