Deutz is a Champagne house with German origins, founded in 1838 by two Prussian immigrants, William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann. It was acquired by Louis Roederer in 1993 and now owns 42 hectares of vineyard and has an extensive sourcing network for grapes. With financial assistance from the Roederer powerhouse, Deutz has become one of the largest Champagne houses nowadays, "Growing like a mad thing", said Tyson Stelzer, Writer of The Champagne Guide. Champagne specialist and writer Tom Stevenson described the house's style to be "firm, flavor-packed yet full of character”. 
 
One of their most notable productions is "Amour de Deutz", which is named after the statue of Cupid that stands in Deutz's courtyard in Aÿ. It is made from the best grapes of the house and is a highly-regarded prestige cuvee which is an excellent option for early enjoyable but also long-term cellaring. 

We can access a small parcel of half bottles (375ml) Deutz Amour de Deutz Blanc de Blancs Vintage 2015 & 2016. These small bottles are the perfect aperitif to start the dinner and every 375ml bottle comes with individual gift boxes which might also be suitable as gifts.
