🌟Tiny Allocations, A New Star, Vincent Paindavoine
Aug 06, 2026
Vincent Paindavoine took over Domaine Rayard in Vosne Romanée in 2022, working just under three hectares across fifteen tiny plots. His family history runs deep in the village: his parents and grandparents worked for Domaine de la Romanée Conti while quietly buying small parcels of their own starting in the late 1960s, farming them nights and weekends. Vincent came to wine after an early career in theater, training at the CFPPA in Beaune in 2005 and gaining experience at Rapet, Bruno Clavelier, and in South Africa. Since 2012 he has also worked for the Hospices de Beaune, tending parcels like Clos de la Roche and Mazis Chambertin.
The domaine farms organically and biodynamically across Aligoté, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir, and production is minuscule given the size of the holding. Burgundy insiders including Burgundy Report and Jasper Morris have already taken notice, and allocations are tightening fast as word spreads about the quality coming out of these old, well-placed family vines. For anyone building a serious Burgundy list, this is a name to secure now before prices and allocations move further out of reach.
